Andrew Youngs, Financial Analyst, Laser Vision Correction Patient

"The amazing thing to me is that it happened so quickly. Right after my procedure I was looking through the little protective cups they put on your eyes and there it was - the world. It was out there and I could see it clearly and it was very cool - very exciting. I was uncomfortable in glasses and I was uncomfortable in contacts. They really affect your daily routine. You wake up in the morning and the first thing you do is reach out and grope for your glasses because without them you just can't see. You're looking around and everything's fuzzy. And with contact lenses - well they're really a hassle. You're always asking, where did I leave them last, where are they, do I have the solutions, can I put them in now, did I disinfect them or am I taking a risk putting them in - what a hassle - there's so much time involved.

"I'm a very active guy. I really hated exercising with my glasses on because with perspiration my lenses were constantly being messed up or sliding down my nose. And you can't run with glasses - you can't scuba dive with your glasses. You just can't do the things you might want to do when you're fooling with glasses. You always have a very cautionary feeling that you have to protect your eyes or worry about losing your lenses.

"I moved to Detroit from Florida and I had heard a lot about Laser Vision Correction down there. I thought I probably would go back to have the procedure done, but I attended one of the seminars at Henry Ford and from the moment that seminar took place I was sold. I was so impressed with the staff and doctors that I knew there wasn't any reason for me to go all the way back to Florida. I had the best right here. Everything I've seen tells me that they are leaders in the field.

"The procedure itself was painless - absolutely painless. It didn't last very long at all and it was a breeze. There was nothing to it - absolutely nothing to it. It has opened up a sense of freedom that I didn't realize existed. Now I don't have to worry about contact lenses and I don't have to worry about glasses. I just get up and do whatever I want to do without the hassle.

"I don't want to take this for granted. It's a gift. It's really a miracle. It can't be summed up in one word. I've gone from 20/200 to 20/20 and I'm extremely satisfied. It's something that I really recommend."
