When we were in your shoes, we were looking for a place where we could grow into confident emergency physicians while being supported by people who genuinely cared about our success. Looking back, we can't imagine training anywhere else.

As the only hospital in Jackson County, our emergency department cares for a diverse patient population with an incredible breadth of pathology. As an unopposed residency, our residents are at the center of patient care from day one. Whether you're caring for a patient with a routine emergency, collaborating with the trauma service on a trauma resuscitation, or managing a critically ill patient, you'll graduate with the confidence and clinical judgment that come from meaningful responsibility and hands-on experience.

What has stayed with us most, though, is the culture of our program. Our faculty know us well, challenge us to grow, and are always willing to teach. The people we've trained alongside have become lifelong friends, trusted colleagues, and the teammates we hope to have beside us on our busiest shifts.

As chief residents, our goal is simple - to leave the program stronger than we found it and to help every resident succeed, both inside and outside the emergency department. We hope this website gives you a glimpse of what makes our program special, and we look forward to sharing it with you in person.
