CLEAR: Center for Leadership in Environmental Awareness and Research
CLEAR is dedicated to understanding and lowering the chances of babies being born too early (preterm birth). CLEAR is focused on environmental chemical exposures in the air and ground. Of interest are VOCs – volatile organic compounds – which are often found in cities like Detroit.
Become Part of CLEAR
Henry Ford Researchers are studying how VOC exposures during pregnancy influence the health of mom and baby, including risk of preterm birth (or being born too early).
The study is recruiting:
- Pregnant patients living or seeking health care in Detroit
- Henry Ford Health patients planning to deliver baby at a Henry Ford hospital.
Approximately 1,100 pregnant patients and their children will be recruited. Follow-up through child age 2 years is planned.
Participants receive monetary and gift incentives.
