The Henry Ford Department of Medical Genetics is committed to the patient's and the referring physician's satisfaction. Physicians who refer to us can be assured that their patients will receive both personalized attention and the most advanced diagnostic and treatment services available.

The department offers specialized testing and analysis, genetic counseling, and management of the genetic disorders in cooperation with the referring physician. Referring physicians are kept apprised of their patients' progress throughout the entire evaluation and treatment process. Examination findings, test results, and consultative data are recorded in the patient's medical record and shared with the referring physician to ensure ongoing, coordinated care.

  • Maternal Serum Screening Program
