Through biomedical cancer research involving the study of model systems, individual patients and patient populations, we seek to discover, disseminate and apply new scientific knowledge with a continuous focus on the health of our patients and the communities we serve.
Cancer research programs
Cancer research at the Henry Ford Cancer Institute is organized into five programs:
- Cancer epidemiology prevention and control
- Cancer imaging
- Developmental therapeutics
- Urologic oncology
These programs represent areas of cancer research focused on identifying the causes and progression, prevention, and detection and treatment of cancer. The types of cancer research we undertake include epidemiological, behavioral, basic, clinical and translational research associated clinical trials.
