Physical Therapy

Physical therapy helps reduce pain and restore function and independence in patients who've undergone surgery, suffered an injury, are recovering from serious illness or are coping with a chronic condition.

The dedicated rehabilitation team at Henry Ford uses a multidisciplinary approach, combining exercise and strength training with manual therapy and specialized services like vestibular and aquatic therapy to develop an individualized treatment plan that meets the unique needs of each patient.

Treatment begins with a physician's prescription and a comprehensive evaluation by an experienced physical therapist. Therapist and patient then work on-on-one, following a specific plan of care designed to help the patient return to work and normal daily activities as quickly and safely as possible.

Patients can choose to receive physical therapy at one of more than 20 state-of-the-art outpatient facilities, conveniently located throughout southeast and south central Michigan. Virtual appointments are also available.
