Emergency Medicine Services at Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital is staffed with dedicated board-certified physicians, nurses and other specially trained medical professionals who specialize in providing emergency care for any emergency, from minor to life-threatening.
Although we treat a broad range of emergency injuries and illnesses, we are especially proud to be both a state-certified heart attack treatment center and a certified stroke center, with services headed by Henry Ford’s top cardiologists and neurologists. In addition to our cardiac and neurological specialists, we collaborate extensively with interventional radiologists who support our team and provide advanced care like clot extraction and other critical procedures to restore blood flow to the brain.
Within the Emergency Department are two dedicated trauma bays, specially equipped areas with the most advanced emergency medical equipment. The sickest and most seriously injured patients, such as those injured in car accidents, falls or violent events, are seen here for the most comprehensive and life-saving emergency care. The Henry Ford West Bloomfield Emergency Department is verified as a Level III Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons.
Convenient and comfortable ER experience
For your convenience, Emergency Medicine Services offers free valet and concierge services. Once inside the ER, we focus on an efficient registration process so you can be in a private room as quickly as possible. The rooms are large enough to accommodate patients and their families and most come equipped with private bathrooms.
To maximize patient safety and minimize errors, all patient registration and medical-record entry are done electronically. Once discharged from the ER, these records can easily be accessed by medical professionals throughout Henry Ford Health System to ensure continuity of care. Within 24 – 72 hours of your ER visit, a member of our staff will reach out to you by phone to see how you’re feeling and ask if you have questions about your treatment, medications or follow-up care.
