After being mentored by another woman at Henry Ford, Danielle and her Mentor Sasha give back to others through Imerman Angels.
Get or Give One-on-One Support
If you’re a cancer patient, survivor, caregiver, or someone with a genetic risk of cancer, get support from someone who’s been in your shoes through Imerman Angels.
Imerman Angels is the world leader in free, personalized one-on-one cancer support. If you are interested in getting support from a “Mentor Angel,” or becoming a “Mentor Angel” to support someone else, you can learn more on the Imerman Angels webpage or by asking your cancer doctor, nurse or social worker.
The unique registration process lets you identify what’s most important when you’re matched with a mentor: do you want to be matched with someone local? Someone with the same cancer type as you? Someone with the same gender or orientation? Someone around the same age? Although it can’t be guaranteed you will receive someone who matches all your exact preferences, Imerman Angels’ skilled Cancer Support Specialists will do their best to match you with the most compatible person.
Your Mentor will communicate with you by your preferred method of communication, and you can talk as much or as little as you want or need to. Imerman Angels was created on the belief that no one should have to face cancer alone and without the necessary support, and they work to make that vision a reality every day.
Henry Ford Cancer Institute has the 3rd highest sign-up rate with Imerman Angels of any other cancer center in the country. Participants find the support of a mentor extremely valuable, and often return to become a mentor to other patients or caregivers later on.
Wanda uses faith and the support of her family, friends and care team to stay positive through the challenges of a cancer diagnosis.
