Celebrate the History of Henry Ford Health System

From the revolutionary vision of auto pioneer Henry Ford to create a hospital for the people of Detroit to the opening of Henry Ford Hospital in 1915...From its survival through two world wars to its innovations in medical care and breakthroughs in science in the mid-century...From its status as a leading urban hospital to its burgeoning into a full-fledged, integrated health system that serves not only Detroit and southeastern Michigan, but patients from around the nation and world. For more than 100 years, Henry Ford Hospital and Henry Ford Health System have stood the test of time, created a legacy and continue to ensure a healthy future for Detroit, Michigan and the world of healthcare that we serve.

Portions of the Heritage area are excerpted from the book, Henry Ford Hospital: The First 75 Years by Patricia Painter. Copies can be ordered at the Henry Ford gift shop.
