Faith-Based Community Health Services

prayer

The World Health Organization defines health as "more than the absence of disease." Likewise the strategies that most effectively address today's pressing health issues often move beyond what is typically provided in traditional health care environments.

We know that health education best occurs in settings conducive to personal transformation and sustained, supported lifestyle change. Studies show that churches and other communities of faith can offer just such settings.

Here, you will learn about how Henry Ford is working in partnership with faith-based organizations to make measurable, far-reaching strides in improving the health of individuals, congregations and communities. More and more, people of faith are saying "yes" to health as a spiritual value, a value shared by all the world's great religions ... many of which are represented in culturally diverse Southeastern Michigan.
