A true public-private partnership, the Detroit Regional Infant Mortality Reduction Task Force represents a range of expertise and perspectives, from clinical to community, from programmatic to policy, environment and behavior change. Each health system comes to the table with a physician/administrator partnership specializing in pediatrics and/or women's health.

The health systems bring the strength and size of their provider networks, and their ability to reach women, babies and families at multiple points across the clinical spectrum.

Public health members provide a population-based perspective as well as a focus on the social determinants of health - racism and its relentless cascade of socioeconomic factors that influence health across the life course. Agency members provide further policy expertise and links to other organizations conducting related, potentially synergistic work.
